Interested in Joining the YANA Board of Directors?
YANA Comox Valley is always keen to connect with community members who are passionate about supporting local families and might one day be interested in serving on our Board of Directors. Our volunteer board plays a vital role in guiding the organization and furthering our mission: to provide financial support to Comox Valley families who need to travel for the medical care of a child or pregnant mother.
Board members commit to a minimum three-year term and attend monthly meetings (no meetings in February or August). Currently, meetings are scheduled for the second Thursday of each month at 6:30pm.
We’d love to hear from individuals who:
- Are sensitive to and interested in understanding the unique needs of YANA families;
- Demonstrate alignment with YANA’s vision, mission, and values;
- Can work collaboratively and respectfully within a group;
- Are able to commit the necessary time and energy to fulfill board responsibilities;
- Would enjoy representing YANA in the community and speaking about our impact.
Our Board is made up of people from a wide range of backgrounds, united by a shared passion for YANA. Serving as a Director is a deeply meaningful way to contribute to your community while working alongside a fantastic team of staff and volunteers.
