Christmas Cracker Drop-In Sessions Complete

Posted on

HUGE thanks to every volunteer who has come to our drop-in Christmas Cracker crafting sessions and group bookings!

The Christmas Crackers are almost complete, so DROP-IN SESSIONS ARE CANCELLED for the remaining dates (November 1, 4, 6 and 8).

Group bookings will continue, however, once this year’s crackers are done, groups will be asked to assist with preparation tasks (measuring, cutting, packaging etc) for next year’s fundraiser.

For information about prizes and about where to buy YANA Christmas Crackers, please see the Christmas Crackers Event Page

Sincere gratitude to the wonderful people of the Provincial Employees Community Services Fund, who generously donated to YANA. We appreciate you!

It warms our heart when children work so hard to fundraise for Comox Valley families. Thank you to Olivia, age 9, for face painting on Market Day with donations to YANA and to her mother, Jody of Home and Garden Gate, for matching her funds. What fantastic teamwork!

We are always amazed at the creative ways people in the Comox Valley come up with to raise money. We’d love to thank Gina at Courtenay Physiotherapy for making and selling microwaveable bags with proceeds going to YANA.

Sending huge appreciation to Island Motorcycle Company for organizing their 2nd Annual Mountain Meetup. These generous folks gather on Mount Washington to see and test the latest models of motorcycles AND give generously to YANA at their event.

The Komox Men’s Real Baseball League really hit it out of the park with their recent fundraiser. YANA was the fortunate recipient of their charitableness. Thank you guys – we think you’re all batting .400!

Crafting Christmas Crackers for YANA

Posted on

The crafting of 5000 Christmas Crackers for YANA has begun! We are looking for eagle-eyed, nimble-fingered adult volunteers to help create YANA Christmas Crackers for this annual fundraising tradition.

Check out this tutorial video by our lead cracker creator Robbie. Does this look like something you’d be able to do? Would you love to help raise money in support of YANA’s accommodation and travel funding programs for Comox Valley families?

See the drop in and private booking times on the Christmas Crackers Event Page, and join the YANA Christmas Crackers Volunteer Crafters Team!

We give thanks to the fine folks of Northgate Christian Education Society (Phil & Jennie Gaglardi Academy.) We appreciate that you think of us of YANA!

We are happy to recognize the Cumberland Masonic Lodge and the Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon for their recent contribution to YANA. Cumberland Lodge chose YANA as their local charity recipient for 2019 and the Grand Lodge matched the funds! We are so grateful for this support, thank you!

The Sid Williams Theatre Society held a 50/50 raffle and the winner chose to donate his/her portion to YANA! We love the generosity of the Comox Valley!
